ISO 41001:2018
Facility management — Management systems — Requirements with guidance for use
- Edition
- 1st edition, published 23 April 2018, including ISO 41001:2018/Amd 1:2024 (published February 2024)
- Published
- Current edition: ISO 41001:2018 with Amendment 1:2024. This is the only certifiable standard in the family. A second edition is in development — ISO/DIS 41001, stage 40.60, ballot closed 30 June 2026 — and is therefore not yet published; there is no confirmed publication date. For contracts and policy, keep referring to the 2018 edition plus Amd 1:2024.
Why it exists
FM had no management system standard of its own and was assessed with instruments designed for quality, safety or environment. This standard gives the discipline an auditable governance framework in the same structure as ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001.

What it means in practice

Non-conformities, complaints and corrective actions are recorded as part of the work.
